I want to transfer my vehicle. What certificate do I need according to the new legislation?
- If the vehicle was either imported by our Group companies (Cyprus Import Corporation Ltd or CIC Automasters Ltd), or, specifically for CIC Automasters Ltd, the previous Distributor before CIC Automasters Ltd (i.e. for Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Fiat, Alfa-Romeo, Jeep, Chevrolet) then you can contact us to receive a Certificate (link) if it is free of recall.
- If the vehicle was imported by e.g. a natural person or a used cars sales company (i.e. imported second-hand), then you must complete Form T.O.M. 371 (link) attaching to it, if you wish, supporting information if free of recall which you will either contact us to provide to you (link) or you will find from another source.
CIC Group (Cyprus Import Corporation Ltd and CIC Automasters Ltd) informs the users of the service regarding the issue of requests for Information (Certificates – absence of recalls or Information – existence of recalls) as follows:
Owners of vehicles with a European Type Approval, can apply to us for a Certificate regarding the existence or not of recalls regarding their vehicles as follows:
- If there is no recall, a Certificate is granted as per the relevant Law.
- If there is a recall, Information is granted. In order to obtain the Certificate that there are no pending recalls for the vehicle, all required work must be completed at a workshop authorized by the CIC Group.
- If no information is available from the manufacturer, then only Information is granted for this. The buyer would need to complete the Form T.O.M. 371 attaching to it, if he/she so wishes, this supporting information.
